The Ministry of Youth organized an introductory session for the third cycle of the Hussein Bin Abdullah II Award for Voluntary Work, held at the German Jordanian University (GJU). The event was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Thelal Owies, as well as members of the award's core and logistical team, Dr. Khetam Al-Abbadi and Dr. Akram Dheim, alongside several members of the administrative and academic staff, and a group of students and youth initiative leaders from the university.

During the session, Dr. Owies emphasized the importance of voluntary work as a cornerstone in community building and in promoting active citizenship. She highlighted the university’s commitment to supporting and adopting purposeful youth initiatives, noting that the award serves as a prestigious national platform to recognize and honor volunteers’ contributions and motivate them to continue serving the nation.

The session featured an interactive presentation delivered by Dr. Daheim and Dr. Al-Abadi, who outlined the award’s categories, philosophy, objectives, and vision. They also explained the application procedures and the broad fields of voluntary work covered by the award, which span across social, economic, environmental, and educational sectors. The presentation further highlighted the evaluation criteria adopted to ensure transparency and integrity in the award outcomes.

The session witnessed notable engagement from attendees, who shared their own voluntary initiatives and their significant role in shaping their personalities and making a tangible impact in the communities they serve. Participants expressed strong enthusiasm to register and take part in the award at the national level.

This session is part of a series of awareness meetings organized by the Ministry of Youth across Jordanian universities, aiming to promote a culture of volunteerism and encourage youth to engage in structured and sustainable community service.
