In a distinguished national academic and research achievement, a team from the Department of Architecture and Interior Architecture at the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), comprising architects Safwan Abdel Aal and Ahmad AL-Kasasbeh, along with Ahmad Abu Naseir, an architect and graduate of the University of Jordan—has earned a well-deserved victory by winning the 2025 Heritage Award in the Climate Change and Cultural Heritage category. This recognition was granted for their innovative project titled "Monitoring Climate Risk Using AI."

The award was announced during an official ceremony held at the Odeon Theater in Downtown Amman, under the patronage of HRH Princess Dana Firas, and attended by members of the royal family, ministers, distinguished guests, and leading figures in the field of heritage.

The Heritage Award, organized by the National Association for the Preservation of Petra, with support from the European Union Delegation to Jordan and the Jordan Kuwait Bank, is one of Jordan’s most prestigious national awards, recognizing outstanding initiatives in the protection and sustainable development of cultural heritage.

This achievement reaffirms GJU’s active role in supporting its researchers and empowering them to develop innovative solutions to major national challenges, further solidifying the university’s position as a leading institution in research and education at both the national and international levels.
