The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, met with the Chairman of the Board of the National Electricity Company, Eng. Omar Al-Kurdi, and its General Manager, Dr. Sufian Al-Bataineh, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two parties in the fields of training, scientific research, and experience exchange.
The meeting — attended by the Vice President, Prof. Eyas Khudair, and the Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Osama Saadeh — focused on developing practical training programs for GJU students within the company’s facilities, as well as implementing applied research projects that serve Jordan’s energy sector and support innovation and technological advancement.
Prof. Al-Halhouli emphasized the university’s commitment to building strategic partnerships with leading national institutions, enabling students to acquire practical skills and connect educational outcomes with the demands of the labor market.
For their part, Eng. Al-Kurdi and Dr. Al-Bataineh praised the high level and excellence of GJU students and graduates in engineering and technical fields, affirming the company’s readiness to support academic and research initiatives aimed at developing the energy sector and fostering innovation.
The delegation also visited the Technology, Research, and Innovation Complex and the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship at the university.
