Based on the German Jordanian University (GJU) strategy on spreading innovation and creativity among the Jordanian university students. GJU in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA) is pleased to launch its third version of the technological advancement competition “GJU 3030” under the theme of “FUTURE TECHNOLOGIES” that targets Jordanian university students.

The competition encourages students to submit projects and ideas on the field of AI applications and technologies such as:

AI and Machine Learning

This pillar invites students to develop innovative AI and machine learning solutions that address real-world challenges. Projects may include intelligent systems for prediction, classification, automation, or decision support in areas such as healthcare, education, transportation, agriculture, and smart cities. Emphasis is placed on ethical, responsible, and impactful use of AI.

Robotics and Drones

This pillar focuses on student-designed mobile robots and aerial drones for practical applications. Topics include autonomous navigation, sensing, control, and human–robot interaction. Students are encouraged to propose robotic solutions for inspection, disaster response, smart farming, environmental monitoring, and urban services.

Cybersecurity

This pillar challenges students to design solutions that enhance digital security, privacy, and trust in modern systems. Projects may address secure communication, data protection, cyber-threat detection, and resilience of digital infrastructure, particularly for smart systems, IoT platforms, and critical services.

Sustainable and Green Technologies

This pillar encourages student innovations that promote sustainability and environmental responsibility. Projects may focus on renewable energy systems, energy efficiency, smart resource management, green mobility, waste reduction, or AI-enabled sustainability solutions that contribute to a greener future.

Internet of Things (IoT)

This pillar invites students to develop IoT-based solutions that connect sensors, devices, and data platforms. Applications may include smart homes, healthcare monitoring, industrial automation, environmental sensing, and smart city services, with attention to efficiency, scalability, and security.

Future of the Architect / Designer in the Age of Automation

This pillar explores how automation, AI, and digital tools are reshaping the role of architects and designers. Students are encouraged to propose innovative concepts, tools, or workflows that integrate AI, generative design, robotics, and digital fabrication to create sustainable, human-centered, and future-ready built environments.

Other Future Technology Topics

This open pillar allows students to propose emerging and interdisciplinary technology ideas not covered above. Topics may include extended reality (XR), digital twins, smart materials, human-centered computing, or other forward-looking technologies that demonstrate innovation, creativity, and positive societal impact.

How to participate:

  1. All student participation must be coordinated with the designated contact person at the university.

  1. The projects will be reviewed, and the best projects will be short listed and invited to showcase their project at the University and present their projects in front of a specialized Judging panel.
  2. The Judging panel will select the winning teams and award them prizes and trophies and wining certificates.

Benefits of Participation:

  1. An opportunity to present your ideas and projects to a jury and potentially win valuable prizes.
  2. Get to know other colleagues interested in Artificial Intelligence and exchange experiences and ideas.
  3. Get the opportunity to work together and develop communication and leadership skills.
  4. Effective contribution to building a better and more sustainable future for Jordan and the world.
  5. An opportunity to attend an online training session on emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, soft skills., etc.

Prize Distribution Structure:

Three awards will be presented to the projects achieving first, second, and third places.

All participants will receive Certificates of Participation.

**The prize values will be announced at a later stage.

Important Dates:

Project submission deadline [14/4/2026].

Projects showcasing and final presentation [28/4/2026].
