The German Jordanian University (GJU), through the Innovation and Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship Department (DI-TECH), organized its annual alumni reunion "GJU Alumni Reunion 2026" at the Jabal Amman Campus, with wide participation from the university’s alumni, academic and administrative staff, representatives of national institutions, and university partners. The event aimed to strengthen communication with alumni, reinforce their sense of belonging to the university, and showcase their inspiring success stories and professional experiences.
The event opened with a speech delivered by Dr. Jamal Al Qundus, representing the (DI-TECH), who emphasized that the university continues to invest in building an active alumni network, driven by its belief that its graduates represent ambassadors of the university across various sectors and are key partners in its journey of development, innovation, and knowledge transfer.
In his speech titled "GJU Towards Globalization", GJU President Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli highlighted the university’s major achievements at the academic and international levels, emphasizing that the success achieved by GJU graduates worldwide reflects the quality of education provided by the university and the excellence of its academic and applied model.
Hassan Al-Waqfi, representing the alumni, delivered a speech expressing the graduates’ pride in their affiliation with the university. He praised the role the university played in preparing them academically and practically, as well as the opportunities it provided that contributed to building their professional careers and achieving their success.
Dr. Col. Eng. Radi Al-Wardat from the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) discussed opportunities for cooperation with the university, emphasizing the importance of building partnerships with national institutions and aligning educational outcomes with labor market requirements.
For his part, Jordan Industrial Estates Company (JIEC) Director General Oday Obeidat emphasized the importance of the partnership with GJU in building an integrated ecosystem that connects educational outcomes with the needs of the industrial sector. He highlighted the company’s plan to establish a national talent pool linking students and graduates with applied research and innovation opportunities in priority industrial sectors, contributing to preparing qualified professionals capable of leading the future of industry in Jordan.
Mayar El-Bakry, representative of Palestine Polytechnic University, highlighted the role of international academic partnerships in empowering youth and promoting innovation. She praised the cooperation between GJU and Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) within the "SEED" Project, which provides opportunities to develop students’ capabilities and prepare them for future requirements.
The reunion also featured an interactive "Kahoot" competition organized by the Innovation Club at GJU, creating an atmosphere of engagement and enthusiasm among participants.
A number of GJU alumni shared their inspiring experiences during the session titled "Alumni Success Stories: Where Did Our Journey Take Us?". Participants included Bilal Bataineh, Mohammad Faouri, Salma Atounah, Othman Abu Alabweeni, and Khairi Saleh, who reflected on their professional achievements, the challenges they encountered, and the lessons that contributed to their success.
The final segment of the event featured a panel discussion titled "Preparing Career Paths for the Future", with the participation of Raad Haroun, Malak Muqabalah, and Widad Saad. The session addressed the challenges and opportunities brought by digital transformation and artificial intelligence, highlighting the importance of developing future skills, continuous learning, and adaptability to the rapidly changing labor market.
The reunion concluded in an atmosphere that reflected the strong sense of belonging to the university, providing alumni with an opportunity to reconnect, exchange experiences, and build new professional partnerships. The event reaffirmed GJU’s commitment to maintaining a sustainable relationship with its alumni and strengthening their role as partners in the university’s journey of excellence and success.
