The German Jordanian University (GJU) participated in the Global Biking Initiative (GBI) Europe 2026 charity cycling event through the participation of Prof. Aiman Alshare, Dean of the School of Applied Technical Sciences and Dean of the School of Sustainable Systems Engineering, who represented the University in the European cycling tour that began in Prague, Czech Republic, and concluded in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The week-long cycling tour retraced the route of the 2010 edition, covering approximately 700 kilometers and bringing together hundreds of cyclists from more than 20 countries. The event aims to support humanitarian initiatives while promoting the values of cooperation, sustainability, and social responsibility.
Prof. Aiman Alshare participated as part of the Jordanian delegation, proudly carrying the flags of Jordan and the German Jordanian University to the finish line, reflecting the University's international presence and its commitment to global partnerships, cross-cultural engagement, sustainability, and community service.
His participation was organized through Team RUM Jordan, which coordinated Jordan's involvement in GBI Europe 2026 under the leadership of Captain Ali Obeidat. The team represented Jordan in this international event, which brings together cyclists and volunteers from around the world and uses cycling as a platform to support charitable causes while fostering international understanding and cooperation.
GJU's participation in this initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening its international engagement and promoting the values of sustainability and social responsibility. It also reinforces the University's mission of building meaningful global partnerships and creating a positive impact at both the local and international levels.
