As part of its efforts to enhance students' digital awareness and promote the safe and responsible use of technology, the "My Right to Learn–Kinder Uni” Initiative, in cooperation with the Media and Community Policing Department of the Public Security Directorate (PSD), organized an awareness lecture on the safe use of social media platforms and the internet, highlighting the risks of cyberbullying and ways to prevent it.
Through an interactive session, participants learned about best practices for protecting digital privacy, promoting the responsible use of social media platforms, and effectively responding to and reporting cyberbullying incidents, thereby strengthening their digital safety awareness.
The initiative supervisor, Mr. Abdul Hakim Arabiyat, emphasized the importance of organizing such awareness activities to help build a generation equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. He noted that the initiative is committed to offering educational programs that contribute to students' personal development and raise their awareness of contemporary societal issues. Participants also had the opportunity to explore a community policing vehicle and learn about its role and services in promoting community safety.
The lecture aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by fostering life skills and raising awareness, and SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by promoting digital safety culture and strengthening cooperation between security and educational institutions.
At the conclusion of the lecture, Mr. Arabiyat expressed his appreciation to the Public Security Directorate, represented by the Media and Community Policing Department, for its efforts in promoting security and digital awareness. He also commended the valuable information shared by the speakers, which enhanced participants' awareness, praising the Directorate's national role in protecting society and reinforcing the values of security, prevention, and community partnership.
