Faisal Bahder, a student in the Industrial Engineering Department at the German Jordanian University (GJU), has completed a month-long research visit to the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences in Germany, under the supervision of Prof. Christian Willberg, and coordinated by Dr. Anas Atieh, Associate Professor in GJU’s Industrial Engineering Department. The visit was conducted as part of research collaboration with research institutions and laboratories in Germany.
The visit focused on Peridynamic Modeling and Simulation using PeriLab, while also providing the student with an opportunity to further develop his programming skills in Julia.
It also included a meeting with Prof. Iyad Rahwan at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin, where they discussed topics related to human-AI collaboration, autonomous systems, and the ethical aspects of artificial intelligence.
Bahder also visited the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Braunschweig, where he explored its research facilities and learned about research and technologies in the aerospace field.
The visit reflects GJU’s efforts to provide its students with opportunities to engage in international research environments, gain exposure to advanced methods and technologies, and strengthen academic and research collaboration with educational and research institutions in Germany.
