The German Jordanian University (GJU) and Opole University of Technology in Poland signed a Memorandum of Understanding, establishing a framework for cooperation in education, scientific research, innovation, and academic exchange. Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, President of GJU, signed on behalf of the University, while Dr. Imad Ireifdzh signed on behalf of Opole University of Technology.

The MoU outlines opportunities for student, faculty, and administrative staff exchanges, collaborative research, joint scientific publications, and the preparation of research grant proposals. It also provides for joint supervision of student projects and postgraduate theses, the organization of conferences and workshops, and cooperation in training, capacity building, and academic quality assurance.

The partnership offers opportunities to connect Opole University of Technology with GJU’s applied research and innovation activities, particularly through the Technology, Research, and Innovation Park (TRIP) and the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH). Potential activities include industry-linked research, joint technical demonstrations, entrepreneurship initiatives, and projects addressing practical challenges in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and connected systems.

GJU also welcomes opportunities to develop joint projects involving interested institutions from its network of more than 120 partner universities in Germany, extending the scope of cooperation among Jordanian, Polish, and German academic and industrial partners.

Prof. Ala’ Khalifeh, from GJU’s Computer Engineering Department, will serve as GJU’s contact person for coordinating and following up on the activities planned under the MoU. Dr. Imad Ireifdzh will serve as the contact person at Opole University of Technology. Together, they will facilitate communication between the two institutions and support the development of joint activities.

The agreement reflects both universities’ commitment to international cooperation that strengthens learning, supports research, and creates opportunities for students and faculty to work across institutional and national boundaries.
