We accept your unsolicited application for a position as a Full-time lecturer for German as a Foreign Language at the German Jordanian University
Depending on demand, we hire both local staff and German native speakers from Germany or other European countries (m/f/d) for the teaching of German courses accompanying studies at levels A1 to B1/B2 according to the CEFR on a full-time basis.
Tasks
- Preparation and delivery of German courses from A1 to B1/B2 in preparation for the students' "German Year" with a teaching load of 18 contact hours (18 x 50 min) per week.
- If required, instruction in the courses "Technical Languages", "Intercultural Communication" or "Job Application Training".
- Proctoring and evaluating exams.
- Conducting extracurricular activities, and administrative and organizational duties.
- Conducting office hours for students.
- Supporting students in all aspects of learning German.
- Participating in meetings, workshops, conferences and training events.
- Conveying a positive image of Germany.
Requirements
- Completed university studies in German as a foreign language, teacher training or language didactics at the master's level.
- Native speaker or proof of German language skills on at least C1 level.
- Experience of at least 2 years in teaching German as a foreign language in an academic context.
- Media competence and willingness to use digital teaching and learning media (interactive textbooks, university LMS, autonomous learning materials, etc.)
- Reliability, ability to work under pressure, flexibility and high ability to work as part of an intercultural team.
