Project Title:
Climate-Resilient Cities
Funding Agency: German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
Project Description:
As part of the joint seminar on the topic of “Climate-Resilient Cities” funded by DAAD, the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences has maintained an intensive academic exchange with two Jordanian partner universities (German Jordanian University (GJU) and Al-Balqa’ Applied University (BAU)). Throughout this project, students and teachers from the German-Jordanian University and Al-Balqaʼ Applied University were guests at the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences. During their stay, they dealt with climate-resilient water management, sustainable mobility, and sustainable construction, explored the city center and southern suburbs in Koblenz, and dealt with Koblenz public transport.
Then, the Koblenz students visited Jordan. During a one-week stay in one of the most water-scarce countries in the world, the civil engineers from the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences dealt with climate-resilient urban development. After topics such as water scarcity, water supply and management, and mobility in Jordan were explained in instructive lectures at the German-Jordanian-University, these became tangible for the students on excursions.
All project activities were funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) from funds of the German Federal Foreign Office (AA).
