Dr. Alaa Alghwiri is an accomplished entrepreneur, educator, mentor, and researcher with a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and more than a decade of experience leveraging data-driven methodologies to deliver actionable insights and innovative solutions. His expertise spans advanced machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling, with applied research and industry experience across diverse sectors including healthcare, energy, higher education, and transportation.

Dr. Alaa Alghwiri’s research lies at the intersection of Industrial Engineering, Energy Systems, and Healthcare Analytics, with a focus on advancing machine learning (ML) methodologies to enable intelligent, adaptive, and data-driven decision-making in complex systems.
- Production and Industrial Systems:
Development of online reinforcement learning models for predictive maintenance, dynamic scheduling, and process optimization to enhance responsiveness, reduce downtime, and improve operational efficiency under uncertainty. - Energy Systems:
Application of machine learning and deep reinforcement learning to optimize energy consumption, forecast generation and demand, and enable adaptive control in HVAC and renewable energy integration. - Healthcare Systems:
Design of predictive models for chronic disease progression and adverse event detection, as well as frameworks for personalized patient care and transfer learning across institutions to enhance model generalizability and clinical applicability.
