Dr. Lena was fortunate to have completed her three degrees from three great universities, which made her the professor that she is today. Dr. Lena specializes in the field of optimization and stochastic theory. Although the field is application agnostic, the rewarding value in its application on healthcare systems maintain itself as the center of Dr. Lena’s research. Her other academic passions also led her to be involved in the realms of innovation, entrepreneurship, and building ideas from concepts into actionable plans.

Educational Background

PhD, Industrial and Systems Engineering, North Carolina State University
MSc, Industrial and Operations Engineering, University of Michigan
BSc, Industrial Engineering, University of Iowa
Research Interests

Optimization Theory, Simulation, and Stochastic Models are the core of her research methodology. Dr. Lena has applied the methodology in pancreatic cancer screening research, course enrolment in high school systems, and now entering disaster relief problems. Her research are summarized in disparity, education, and healthcare systems.
