Project Title:
The German Jordanian Centre for Labour Mobility (GJC)/ Empowering Jordanian candidates for the International Labour market (EJIM)
Funding Agency: The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ)
Project Description:
The German Jordanian Centre for Labour Mobility (GJC) informs and advises Jordanians about the requirements and possibilities of regular migration for work and qualification purposes to Germany, Europe, and the region. The centre has been established under the Centres for Migration and Development (ZME) project, which is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and in cooperation with the Jordanian Ministry of Labour (MoL).
This project aims to increase the employability of Jordan’s skilled workforce, especially in IT, industrial, and engineering sectors, by preparing them for opportunities in international labour markets. Funded by a dedicated grant, the project selects 60–80 promising professionals from an initial pool of 300 candidates through rigorous technical, language, and psychological assessments to ensure readiness for global employment.
LMW offers comprehensive training including technical upskilling, language and intercultural communication, CV writing, interview preparation, and networking with international employers. The initiative emphasizes gender inclusion, targeting at least 35% female participation, and fosters strong collaboration between GJU, the Ministry of Labour, and the Vocational Training Corporation.
By strengthening institutional capacities and enhancing candidate readiness, LMW supports sustainable employment opportunities abroad, addresses youth unemployment in Jordan, and contributes to regional labour market integration, positioning Jordanian professionals for success in the global economy.
