Jordan Cinema Academy (JCA) is a project based on a strategic collaboration between the German Jordanian University (GJU) and the Royal Film Commission (RFC). It is the first academy in Jordan to specialize in the field of cinema arts education. The main objective of JCA is to foster cinematic arts and education in Jordan and the region, equipping aspiring filmmakers with comprehensive training, resources, and curricula in order to thrive in the film industry.
The JCA is devoted to encouraging talented young people and elevating the art of filmmaking through developing a dynamic, educational environment where students can acquire knowledge of the aesthetic, technical, and commercial facets of cinema. By putting the theoretical part into practice, the academy emphasizes the approach of hands-on learning through which students can get to work and apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings.
JCA Program and Curriculum:
JCA offers a professional diploma degree that extends for 16 months (4 semesters), targeting Jordanian and Arab students. It is tailor-made to cover various aspects of filmmaking, like screenwriting, directing, cinematography, editing, sound design and production. It aims to produce skilled professionals who can make a significant difference in the global and local film industries.
