The School of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (SEEIT) at the German Jordanian University organized an intensive technical workshop titled “Introduction to Medical Image Processing and Analysis”. Prof. Dr. Klaus Brinker, a flying faculty professor from Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences, taught the workshop.

The workshop covered fundamental image processing and analysis methods for medical applications. It focused on application areas for medical imaging and image analysis, with a particular emphasis on essential image enhancement approaches using intensity transformations. More specifically, both brightness and contrast enhancement techniques as well as intensity windowing and background correction were introduced, providing a valuable starting point for building more advanced image analysis systems.

The workshop consisted of face-to-face and online lectures and a laboratory programming part. The programming assignments focused on solving medical analysis problems using Java and the ImageJ digital image processing library.

At the end of the workshop, the students who attended all workshop sessions and finished the workshop exercises received certificates of attendance signed by Prof. Dr. Brinker.
