The German Jordanian University (GJU), under the leadership of its President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, actively engaged in the Jordanian-Kurdistan Higher Education Forum 2024 held in Erbil. This event was organized jointly by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Kurdistan Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Tourism Promotion Board, focusing on the theme "Shaping the Future through Sustainable Development."

Prof. Al-Halhouli emphasized GJU's commitment to its international, applied, innovative, and sustainable approach to education, research, and community service. He seized the opportunity to showcase the university's distinctive emphasis on practical, technical applications, particularly highlighting its initiatives during the German Year and its collaborative efforts in building partnerships.

Furthermore, Prof. Al-Halhouli expressed hope that the forum would facilitate enhanced networking and collaboration between GJU and Iraqi universities in the Kurdistan region, specifically in the realms of scientific research and cultural exchange.

In addition to Prof. Al-Halhouli's participation, Prof. Alaa Khalifa, the President's Advisor for University Life Affairs, delivered a lecture on information technology and artificial intelligence during the forum's inauguration. The Jordanian delegation, led by Prof. Mamoun Al-Debai, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, also contributed significantly to the event.

This forum aligns with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's strategic initiative to attract international students to Jordanian higher education institutions, as outlined in the executive plan for the period 2023-2027.
