The German Jordanian University, in collaboration with the plastic sector / Jordan Chamber of Industry, organized a workshop to discuss aspects of cooperation with the plastic sector.

During the workshop, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, GJU’s president emphasized the importance of cooperation and coordination with the local industrial sectors, highlighting GJU’s role in the development of the national industry.

The workshop included a presentation by Dr. Osama Saadeh, who outlined the German hosted programs in cooperation with the Würzburg Schweinfurt Technical University (THWS), which are Social Work and Hydrogen Engineering.

After that, Dr. Muhammad Khanfar gave a lecture on the polymer engineering program, which is a proposed program hosted in cooperation with (THWS) University to be established at GJU in the future, pointing out that one of the objectives of the workshop held is to study the feasibility of hosting the aforementioned program in the future.  Another lecture was given on the dual studies programs by Dr. Abdo Mahli, specifically on the working mechanism of these programs and the extent to which students are going to benefit from them.

Eng. Ali Abu Khazna, Director of the Plastics Sector at the Jordan Chamber of Industry, concluded the workshop with a lecture on the importance of the sector and its role in supporting the national economy, especially with regard to the manufacturing industries and the contribution of national plastic companies to the development of the national economy.

The workshop concluded by discussing aspects of joint cooperation between GJU and the plastics sector at the Jordan Chamber of Industry to train university students in plastic-producing institutions, carry out graduation projects in these institutions, and cooperate in the field of improving and developing locally produced plastic products.
