The school of Natural Resource Engineering (SNREM) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) participated in the establishment of the Energy Academy of Germany and Jordan.

The Energy Academy is collaborative project between several partners; in addition to GJU, Al-Hussein Technical University, the Electric Training Center of the National Electric Power Company, the Amman Chamber of Industry, the German Federal Solar Association (BSW-Solar), and Niuversity Global.

The academy is a project is one of the projects within the Jordanian-German Energy Partnership and is managed by GIZ.

Kick off and signing ceremony took place on the 26th of October. It was under the patronage of H.E. the minister of Energy in Jordan, Dr. Saleh Al Kharabsheh , and H.E. the German ambassador to Jordan, Mr. Bernhard Kampmann and with the presence of all involved parties.

The Dean Dr. Qasem Abdelal, Dr. Aiman Albatayneh, Dr. Mustafa Jaradat and the industrial professor Eng. Firas Alawneh represented GJU in the ceremony and the subsequent workshop.

The academy will help better train technicians on innovative and sustainable energy technologies. The Energy Engineering department at GJU will be initially responsible for training material development, a task to be done by the highly skilled and experienced faculty and staff of the department.

This project is the latest of a series projects and activities that testify to the dedication of GJU its schools to empowering local communities and building their capacities.
