Lecturer for German as a Foreign Language (m/f/d)
at the German Language Center of the German Jordanian University (GJU)
in Amman, Jordan
We are seeking a full-time lecturer to teach German language courses at levels A1 to B1/B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), starting in the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year for at least one academic year.
Your Responsibilities:
- Preparing and teaching German language courses from A1 to B1/B2 level to prepare students for their exchange year in Germany.
- Maintaining a full teaching schedule of 18 contact hours per week.
- Administering and grading examinations.
- Holding student consultation hours.
- Participating in meetings, workshops, training events, and "German Dimension" activities at GJU.
- Completing administrative and organizational tasks related to the courses taught.
- Conveying a positive image of Germany and its culture.
Your Profile:
- A completed university degree at Master's level in German as a Foreign Language, German Studies, or a related field with a focus on language didactics.
- Native-level German proficiency or proven German language skills at C2 level.
- At least two years of experience teaching German as a foreign language in a higher education context is desirable.
- Knowledge of German cultural and regional studies.
- Proficiency with educational media and digital teaching methods.
- Reliability, ability to work in an international team, and flexibility.
