Project Description:

This project implemented in cooperation between Trier University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and the German Jordanian University, Jordan was intended to realistically depict the cycle of sustainable software projects based on the division of labor. Students of both Universities went from analysis and planning to implementation and delivery, thereby preparing students for the international job market.

The project was divided into three phases:

  1. A condensed version of software development was simulated during a workshop in Jordan. The students then developed ideas for creating a mobile app in the context of the UN‘s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and formed international teams.
  2. The students developed their mobile apps virtually and received input from international guest lecturers and experts in software engineering.
  3. The students presented their apps at a final conference at Trier University of Applied Sciences. Entrepreneurship workshops enabled students to develop a business plan, and pitch and commercialize ideas for their start-ups.

This project is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) using funds from the German Federal Foreign Office (AA).
