Project Description:
This project aims to provide a clear direction and guidelines for applications of smart solutions with integrated energy storage that aim to provide clean, efficient, low-cost, and sustainable energy solutions for Jordanian communities.
The project will perform a feasibility study, explore, and evaluate different design options to assess the technical and economic feasibility of the system, and prepare techno-economic-environmental metrics. Further, the project will develop an abstract model of the grid-scale storage system for a defined case study to help understand and analyze the role of storage and estimate its whole-system value in the Jordanian power system. Optimal sizing of storage technologies will be carried out considering relevant techno-economic factors. The system will be operated and validated in real-world conditions using the Smart Grid laboratory. This validation will allow us to evaluate the efficiency and applicability of the suggested smart solutions based on the energy storage for the Jordanian Networks. Finally, the outcome of this project will provide guidelines and guide the decision-makers to the most feasible energy storage solution for their systems.
