Project Description:

The Green City project, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), aims to promote sustainable and resilient urban development through the strengthening of urban planning capacities in the field of energy and Municipal Solid Waste Management (SWM).

In this regard, the role of the German Jordanian University (GJU) is mainly focused on the empowerment of municipalities in Jordan in the development of the energy sector and application of sustainable and cost-effective solutions in public buildings. In particular, GJU’s role involves the following:

  • Improving the energy efficiency and promoting the use of renewable energy in Jordanian municipal facilities and schools.
  • Setting up partnerships for the exchange of know-how and good practices on environmental and energy management between the Italian, Lebanese, and Jordanian municipalities.

This project is funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) within the framework of the Call for Territorial Entities.

The contents of this page are the sole responsibility of the German Jordanian University (GJU), and can under no circumstances be regarded as reflecting the position of AICS.
