In coordination with the Dean of Student Affairs (DSA), students from the School of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (SEEIT) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) attended the 13th Annual Global Media and Information Literacy Week Conference titled, "The New Digital Frontiers for Media and Information Literacy for the Public Good." Organized by UNESCO in partnership with the Ministry of Government Communication, the event featured over 30 speakers from local, Arab, and international backgrounds.

The two-day conference consisted of five sessions addressing various critical topics, including Navigating the New Digital Frontiers of Public-Interest, The Role of Digital Content Creators and Influencers as Agents of Change for Media and Information Literate Societies, Media and Information Literacy in the Age of AI Generated Information, Media and Information Literacy in Times of Crisis, Media and Information Literate Cities.

The students expressed appreciation for the opportunity to attend, especially given the conference's relevance to challenges faced by social media users, emphasizing the importance of verifying information before sharing it to counter misinformation. They also met with several speakers and participated in the youth hackathon held on the conference sidelines.
