Through the Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA) at the German Jordanian University (GJU)Model United Nations (MUN) Club recently participated in the MUN conference hosted by Georgetown University in Qatar, achieving a remarkable success by winning three awards.

Representing GJU were Hashem Alawneh (Best Delegate), Kamal Elnimri (Best Delegate), Marah Khalil (Honorable Mention), Tareq Haddad, Mohammad Faghouli and Abdulrahman Qasem. Notably, they were the only participants from Jordan.

During the conference, the students simulated the workings of the United Nations, successfully negotiating solutions and drafting resolutions on a variety of international issues, fostering diplomacy, leadership, and global awareness.

It is worth mentioning that the Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations, serving as a political and academic competition where students learn about diplomacy and international affairs. The program also helps develop key strengths such as teamwork, debate, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving.
