The Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA) - Sports Section at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized the first University Championships for student teams, featuring five sports: Basketball, Badminton, Ping Pong, Football, and Chess.
During the first semester, the Sports Section, led by Dr. Zeyad Al-Zoubi, collaborated with a team of elite coaches to select athletes through interviews and tryouts across various sports to nearly 400 students. Over five weeks of intense competition, the student teams participated in a series of matches and tournaments concluding in the final championships.
Commenting on the tournaments, Dr. Thelal Oweis, Dean of Student Affairs, emphasized that these events showcase the exceptional athleticism of GJU students while nurturing essential values such as teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. She congratulated all participants and encouraged them to maintain their dedication and hard work both on and off the field.
In the presence of Dr. Oweis, Vice Dean Dr. Omar Batayneh, Dr. Al-Zoubi, coaches, and the enthusiastic students, awards, including cups and medals, were presented to the champions.
