Organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs, the students of the Engineering in Medicine and Biology (EMBS) Club hosted Prof. Spyretta Golemati, of Biomedical Engineering at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens - Greece, to give a lecture on “Novel Ultrasound Imaging Markers of Vascular Function for Cardiovascular Prediction.”

This event shed light on cutting-edge ultrasound techniques and their transformative potential for cardiovascular diagnostics and prevention. The lecture emphasized the role of these markers in addressing the challenges of patient stratification, a crucial step in clinical practice. By integrating these imaging techniques with machine learning, Prof. Golemati demonstrated how predictions of adverse cardiovascular events can become more accurate and personalized, enhancing early diagnosis and preventive care.
