Biography

I hold a background in e-business, e-marketing, and software engineering, complemented by industry experience as a Java software engineer, recruitment consultant, and founder of three successful startups. My academic interests lie in e-business strategy, digital innovation, and the intersection of technology and entrepreneurship, where I combine research with hands-on practice. I am particularly passionate about exploring how emerging technologies shape business models and equipping students with the skills and market awareness needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital economy.

Educational Background

PhD in e-Business / e-Marketing – Central Queensland University, Australia (2015–2020)
MSc in E-Business & E-Marketing – Newcastle University, UK (2010–2011)
BSc in Computer Engineering – Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Jordan (2004–2009)
Research Interests
  • My research interests lie in e-business, e-marketing, and digital entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on the mobile app economy, consumer behaviour, and technology adoption. I am interested in how software features, payment systems, and socio-economic factors influence user spending behaviour and shape monetisation models in digital markets. Beyond consumer behaviour, I also explore startup business modelling, digital innovation strategies, and e-commerce platforms, aiming to bridge academic insights with practical applications for entrepreneurs and businesses navigating the dynamic tech industry.
Experience
  • I bring a blend of academic and industry experience across e-business, software engineering, and recruitment. I am currently a lecturer at German Jordanian University, where I teach e-business subjects and design curricula focused on critical thinking and problem-solving. Previously, I worked as a sessional academic at UNSW and Central Queensland University, teaching a wide range of business computing and IT courses and mentoring students in startup development.
  • I co-founded Carepoint24 Recruitment Company for nurses. Novellectual, a mobile app startup whose three apps achieved millions of downloads, and founded Creative Coon Studio, an e-commerce print-on-demand venture. My industry background also includes roles as a Junior Java Developer at Adaptive TechSoft and as a Recruitment Consultant in both the UK and Jordan. Since 2020, I have been providing freelance e-business consulting, advising startups across Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan on market viability and growth strategies.
