Flying Faculty 2022

We are happy to announce that we will be able to fund 40 participants in total in 2022 of which 30 will be on campus and 10 online. There will be a distribution among the schools according to size plus GLC, Library and OIL.

Who can participate?

Professors and lecturers from German universities who would like to give a course in the associated school at GJU can participate. The professors and lecturers may or may not come from our partner universities (although preferably from our partners). Please find below the list of courses that can or should be taught by Flying Faculty participants (listed for every school). It is possible to teach other courses, please feel free to contact the IO.

Interested applicants are requested to send a CV and specific course title they would like to teach to the International Office or to the GJU school if they already have a contact at GJU. The international office will put the school and the participants in contact to discuss further details until the end of November. The school have to present the names of their participants for 2022. We will try to ensure a balance between frequent participants and new ones. Please spread the word and feel free to apply!

Schedule for 2022

The year will be divided into two parts: The first round of participants as Flying Faculty will come from January until end of June 2022, the second round from July until end of November 2022. December 2022 will be completely mobility free. Courses can be held on campus, online or in a hybrid format throughout the year.

Information for the Schools

As a school, you are involved in the process of making Flying Faculty 2022 happen. Therefore, please provide the IO with a list of courses that should or can be covered. The deadline for the list is the 30th September. Make sure that the list includes the following information:

  • Possible course title
  • How many hours should be covered
  • When to take place within the semester
  • Will it be integrated in another course
  • Which student (level)
  • Which language
  • Possible online/hybrid/on campus

Once the application process has begun, the schools have to find the right candidates from the applications. The nomination deadline for all names in 2022 is at the November 30th, 2021, but we will only need the details (e.g. course, exact time frame, schedule, hours, etc.) for the candidates for the first round. Please make sure to nominate 5 candidates, 3 plus 2 standby for the whole year 2022. How you distribute those number between the rounds and within the year is up to the school. The participants will be approved in beginning of December 2021.

The second round will come from July until end of November 2022.The nomination deadline, including details and possible change of candidates for the second round, is May 15th, 2022. The nomination deadline for the participants by the school will be May 15th and will be approved in June by the International Office and the Presidency.

Dividing the year into two parts provides us all with better planning opportunities and easier reactions to changes. The nomination form and further info can be found on this website below and will be updated accordingly.
