Project Description: This Project is designed to develop a new method minimizing the use of fossil fuels to help reduce pollution and lessen the costs incurred by excessive oil imports. Furthermore, it compares between two types of solar collectors: flat collectors and evacuated tubes, involving the utilization of Phase Change Material (PCM) to store heat. It’s been confirmed that evacuated tubes are pretty much more efficient than flat plate collectors. The efficiency of evacuated tubes is being evaluated as high as 60%. On the other hand, the efficiency of flat plate collectors was 48%. The advantage of using PCM occurs only when the amount of used PCM is suitable and at specific temperatures.
