The Center for e-Learning and Academic Performance Improvement (CeLAPI) is where the German Jordanian University builds its digital learning and where it studies whether that learning works.

While most do only the first half. In CeLAPI, We think the two belong together. Every course we design, every faculty programme we run, and every tool we adopt is also an opportunity to learn something about how people learn. We intend to take it.

Vision
A university where teaching is practised and studied at the same time: technology transforming education, and evidence disciplining the technology.

Mission
To build and support high-quality digital, blended and in-person learning at GJU, through faculty development, course design, and dependable infrastructure,  and to generate evidence from that work: measuring what students actually learn, publishing what we find, and contributing to how the field understands technology-enhanced learning in our region and our languages.

What we do

  • Design: digital and blended courses built to accreditation standards, with learning outcomes that mean something.
  • Develop: training that builds teaching capability rather than tool familiarity, and micro-credentials that carry real weight.
  • Enable: platforms, guidelines and support that faculty and students can rely on.
  • Measure: instruments that tell us what students learned, not only how satisfied they felt.
  • Research: studies of our own practice, published and open to challenge: AI in learning, blended design, and how engineers and scientists come to understand complex systems.
  • Partner: with Jordanian institutions, with German partners, and with international research communities.

CeLAPI serves GJU first. But what we learn here should be useful to anyone teaching under similar conditions which is most of this region.
