Al-Rukn Al-Arabi at ALCC is a vibrant space designed to enrich students’ learning experience beyond the classroom by integrating Arabic language learning with cultural immersion. The Corner offers a wide range of activities and workshops that immerse students in Arab culture, including traditional crafts (such as embroidery and musical instrument making), Arabic calligraphy, Arabic music, folk dance like Dabke, culinary experiences, and Arabic film screenings. All activities are organized within a pre-planned calendar showing dates, locations, and a flexible, easy registration process.

Activities include cultural excursions, workshops, guest speakers (renowned Arab personalities, influencers, writers, and social entrepreneurs), site visits, and drama activities.

Each activity is preceded by a preparatory lesson and accompanied by a task during the activity. In some cases, and in coordination with instructors, a reflective task or classroom presentation may also follow the activity.

Al-Rukn Al-Arabi also introduces students to seasonal, national, and religious occasions such as Ramadan, Eid, and public holidays, helping them understand and participate appropriately, fostering cultural and social engagement, and reducing cultural shock. This ensures a safe, enjoyable, and immersive experience that maximizes student learning and integration.

Al-Rukn Al-Arabi provides a safe and friendly environment for discussion, cultural and language exchange, practicing Arabic, sharing ideas, and building meaningful connections. All activities are either free or offered at a minimal cost, ensuring accessibility while fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of Arabic language and culture.
