Road Safety Center of Excellence Council

Overview

The Road Safety Center of Excellence Council serves as the governing and advisory body of the Center. It plays a vital role in guiding the strategic direction, research priorities, and collaborative activities of the RSCE to ensure its alignment with national and international road safety goals.

The Council is formed in accordance with Article (5) and Article (6) of the RSCE Regulations at the German Jordanian University, and its composition reflects the Center’s multidisciplinary approach—bridging academia, government institutions, and industry experts.

Mandate of the Council

The Council’s main responsibilities include:

• Defining the Center’s strategic vision and approving its annual work plans and projects.
• Strengthening collaboration between the university, government entities, and the private sector in the field of road safety.
• Supporting the development of research, innovation, and capacity-building initiatives related to traffic safety and sustainable mobility.
• Reviewing and approving reports, budgets, and recommendations submitted by the Center’s Director.
• Ensuring that RSCE activities contribute to Jordan’s national road safety strategies and the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety.

Council Composition

According to the official university decision, the RSCE Council (2025–2026) is chaired by the President of the German Jordanian University and includes members from academia and key national institutions working in road safety.

Through its council, the RSCE ensures that its activities are driven by evidence-based research, national priorities, and community engagement. The Council’s collective expertise supports the Center’s mission to reduce traffic accidents, promote safe mobility, and enhance road safety culture in Jordan.
