In this course, students will be introduced to the concept of Emotional Intelligence as a means to improve self-management and relationship management. The operative concepts are applied to social, family, academic, and professional relationships with an emphasis on leadership implications. The curriculum is primarily based on Daniel Goleman’s book “Leadership: The Power of Emotional Intelligence,” covering leadership styles and their appropriate applications, the emotional intelligence model, and neurological aspects of the limbic system. A Project-Based Learning approach is incorporated to allow students to apply emotional intelligence principles in real-world leadership scenarios, analyze practical cases, and propose evidence-informed solutions. |
