On September 26, 2023, the Vice President for International Affairs, Prof. Dr. Reiner Finkeldey, and the Director of the German Language Center, Jacqueline Rogler, welcomed eleven new full-time lecturers who will strengthen the now 71-member teaching team for German as a foreign language at GJU. In addition to internationally recruited German lecturers, the German Language Center draws its staff primarily from graduates of the GJU's School of Applied Humanities and Languages (SAHL). Language teachers trained in the German as a Foreign Language master's program at the GJU now make up 55 % of the German Language Center's total teaching staff.
