The Arabic Language and Culture Center (ALCC) at the German Jordanian University offers a specialized course for training and qualifying teachers of Arabic as a Foreign Language (TAFL), providing participants with up-to-date knowledge and skills for teaching Arabic as a second language. The course covers the essential aspects of language teaching, including general information about Arabic, the differences between teaching it to native and non-native speakers, teaching methodologies, teacher categories, second language teaching standards, challenges facing educators, types of programs, and globally recognized level division systems.

 

The course also addresses core language components such as sounds, letters, vocabulary, sentences, and texts, as well as grammar and cultural aspects of the Arabic language, along with the four skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking). Participants learn effective teaching strategies, integrate curricular and extracurricular activities, and engage in student assessment and evaluation.

The course additionally introduces language teaching theories, best practices, and key textbooks and series for teaching Arabic as a second language, with practical applications throughout.
