GJU Vice President for International Affairs, Prof. Dorit Schumann and the Director of the Office for Industrial Links, Britta Kaehler attended a signing ceremony with Kuehne HELP Logistics in Amman, represented by their Regional Director Alia Gharaibeh.

With this agreement Kuehne starts to finance three research projects in the field of humanitarian logistics. They support the university industry collaboration at GJU with a strong research focus. Two PhD candidates and one Master student receive financing from the grant. A German and European PhD student finance a research trip to Jordan and a Jordanian Master applicant receives funding for IT support, training and literature. The researchers focus on humanitarian logistics and humanitarian aid, such as self-resilience and gender equality for refugees in Jordan and performance measurement for procurement activities. First results will be available in early 2019.

GJU and Kuehne HELP Logistics see this as a beginning stage of their cooperation. For 2019 and 2020 further joint activities are aimed, such as an international conference, a workshop with partners from practice and science, and further research projects will be discussed in January 2019.
