Application details and process

Candidates need to be nominated by the Dean of their School or by their direct supervisor to the International Office using the Train-the-Trainer application form (click here). Only complete applications (with CV and a letter of intent) will be considered for the Train-the-Trainer program.

Applicants who submitted their complete applications in time will be invited for an interview with a GJU selection committee, which will nominate suitable candidates. The final decision is then made by the President of GJU and the Project Office at Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal. The results will be communicated to the candidates and the respective supervisors.

Candidates who applied for the program in the previous year and who fulfilled all requirements without eventually receiving funding will be given special preference.

The application has to be submitted to the IO and has to include the following documents:

  1. Filled application form with the approval of your supervisor.
  2. Updated CV.
  3. Invitation letter from the German host institution (if already available).
  4. Letter of intent in English (or German) – the letter should state:
  1. Prior work experiences in or regarding Germany.
  2. If possible, the name of the host institution(s) you would like to go to.
  3. What would you hope to do and learn in Germany during your stay.
  4. The expected benefits of your training for GJU.

At the end of your stay, a written report describing the activities and outcomes of your training is expected to be submitted to the GJU’s International Office. This needs to be signed by the candidate’s supervisor.

Disclaimer: The support granted by this program is subject to the availability of funding. We thus reserve the right to limit the duration of the participants’ stay in Germany to the minimum duration of one month.
