GJU Staff Mobility Program 2026- Junior Researcher | Call for Applications
Program Description
The Project Office at Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports young academic members from GJU to participate in the GJU Staff Mobility Program for early career scientists. The program is not open to GJU faculty. The program provides young GJU academic staff holding a Bachelor, Master, or PhD such as research assistants and young scientists working for externally funded projects with an opportunity to visit one of GJU’s German Partner Universities of Applied Sciences to complete and/or finalize an applied research project. The GJU staff mobility program strengthens relations between GJU and its partners.
Program Purpose and Objective
All early career scientists (e.g. research assistants), including those working on external funding, can apply for a research stay at a German partner university as part of their academic qualification (e.g. for an M.Sc. or PhD thesis). One joint publication of applied research results is expected.

1. Number of mobilities in 2026: 2 mobilities
2. Duration of the program: up to 2 months
3. Program budget: 1,600 EUR per month
Who can apply?
Any academic staff/early career scientists conducting applied research at GJU can participate.
Please kindly note:
- Applicants are responsible for reasonable time management (invitation letter, visa application, finding accommodation, booking flights, working schedule, and the like).
- Applicants are responsible for providing an invitation letter from a host institution in Germany.
How to apply?
Required Documents:
- Application form
- Description of planned research work, including a description of how it fits in the career development of scientists (max. 3 pages)
- Support letter from Direct Supervisor (GJU Faculty)
- Support letter from the Dean of the School
- Invitation letter for German partner university
- Updated CV
The application needs to include the documents mentioned above and must be submitted to the International Affairs Department digitally via email to (Gju.staff.mobility@gju.edu.jo).
The deadline to submit your application is November 1st, 2025. Only complete applications will be considered.
All eligible applicants will be invited for an interview with a GJU selection committee, which will nominate suitable candidates. The committee decisions will be based on the following criteria:
- Qualification as presented in the application and in the interview
- Capability of the candidate to represent GJU accordingly
- GJU’s benefit resulting from the candidate’s mobility
