Erasmus+ Staff Mobility - Call for Applications for 2026
The International Affairs Department (IAD) at GJU, is welcoming your online applications until October 30, 2025.
What is Erasmus+ Staff Mobility?
Erasmus+ supports teaching and training periods for staff working in higher education institutions. With Erasmus+, you can teach or train at a higher education institution in an Erasmus+ program or Partner country.
Who can apply?
- Academic and administrative staff at GJU (regardless of individual period of employment or position at GJU).
- People of all nationalities are welcome.
- Persons with disabilities or chronic illness (can include physical, mental, or health-related conditions) can be funded with a real cost inclusion budget (proof needs to be given in the application, funding depends on the national agency in the partner country) to realize the mobility.
What are the application requirements?
- Level of B2 in English
- German knowledge is an asset (for the German hosts)
- In case of disability or chronic illness a medical letter and approx. estimated cost for the mobility needs to be handed in
What are the required documents for the application?
- Application form
- CV (maximum 3 pages)
- Letter of Motivation
- Letter of Recommendation (by your dean or supervisor)
- Proof of English (only for administrative staff)
Before applying:
- Please check the websites of the possible host institutions carefully and choose at least one suitable institution for you (which department/entity/faculty at the institution could host you?). The host institutions will be updated continually.
- Please discuss with your dean/director at GJU which institution would suit you and which might be useful for the requested purposes in the letter of recommendation
- Please consult your dean/director for a suitable time of your mobility (for the majority of the hosts, the mobility period is only possible until the end of 2026)
Please note:
- Applicants are responsible for proper time management (including visa application, arranging accommodation, booking flights, coordinating schedules with the host institution, etc.). Last-minute cancellations due to poor planning will result in exclusion from the program for the following two years.
- Employees who were funded in 2025 will have less priority for the 2026 call.
- Erasmus+ Staff Mobility cannot be combined with the GJU SMP. Applicants who have received and accepted a seat in the SMP program are not eligible for Erasmus+ Staff Mobility.
- The mobilities will have an approximate duration of five working days, so you will be absent for one working week from GJU (extensions to two weeks might be possible)
- The funding depends on the host institutions, the average is 360 EUR travel lump sum plus 160-180 EUR per mobility day
- All mobilities have to be completed by 31.12.2026 at the latest, some earlier (e.g., 31.07.2026)
- If other partner universities offer additional seats during the call for applications period, the partner list will be updated on the website.
- Applicants should not contact host institutions before being accepted. All communication will be handled by the International Affairs Department at GJU.
- Priority will be given to staff who have never participated in any staff mobility program via GJU.
What are the selection criteria?
- CV and letter of motivation (weighted 30%)
- Performance in the assessment center (weighted 70%)
